I mentioned below that I helped my friend Donna Walker arrange her living room last weekend. Donna has beautiful furnishings. We simply moved items around, arranging the furniture to to better suit her family's needs. The focal point is the fireplace and the beautiful TV hutch. We de-cluttered areas, specifically the fireplace mantel and built-in book case. We removed several family photos then placed her favorite pieces from other rooms on the book case. We took a beautiful copper piece her husband likes from the floor, and simply placed it on the mantel.
Donna wanted to add some color, so we bought some very inexpensive RED throw pillows for the sofa that match a coordinating RED candle stand she already had. This added the color she wanted and pulled the look together. She added a nice variegated plant and platter atop the TV hutch. Now, her living room has an open, inviting and more balanced look.
