Having trouble selling your home? Slow traffic?

Spring is nearly here. Traffic will pick up, house lookers will be out in force. My main objective is to increase traffic in your home or listing. If lookers can't see beyond your winter- laden lawn, they won't bother to see what's on the inside.

Tips
CLEAN debris from winter; rake up old leaves, blow the lawn, declutter beds. Put down pine mulch or straw to define borders and lastly spruce up beds by removing last seasons dead flowers, careful not to pull up new growth!

Add color by planting flowers such as pansies that can handle cold evenings in spring. Hang a hearty asparagus fern or set a nice topiary near your entryway or door. Welcome buyers to see your home!
Don't let the home buyers pass your home by because of a lack-luster, less appealing yard.

This is my Mom's home. This home was built in the '50s and has been in our family for nearly 40 years. I, with my older brother and Mom lived in this house in the late '70s. It was cozy then, quaint and very much home. Recently Mom and her husband bought a new home with smaller yard in McCalla. They put this home on the market in February. This house has always been cozy, but when emptied of the furnishing was sad and lifeless. I added some furniture, some accents and it got it's life back. Now it has a story to tell.

Staging begins in anyone's home...

I mentioned below that I helped my friend Donna Walker arrange her living room last weekend. Donna has beautiful furnishings. We simply moved items around, arranging the furniture to to better suit her family's needs. The focal point is the fireplace and the beautiful TV hutch. We de-cluttered areas, specifically the fireplace mantel and built-in book case. We removed several family photos then placed her favorite pieces from other rooms on the book case. We took a beautiful copper piece her husband likes from the floor, and simply placed it on the mantel.

Donna wanted to add some color, so we bought some very inexpensive RED throw pillows for the sofa that match a coordinating RED candle stand she already had. This added the color she wanted and pulled the look together. She added a nice variegated plant and platter atop the TV hutch. Now, her living room has an open, inviting and more balanced look. A picture is worth a thousand...dollars!

OK maybe not always, but in my line of work, pictures are a must. I take them to show sellers and Realtors what Staging Homes can do. Here are some pictures I took of homes I've recently Staged. The homes were vacant, with a moderate amount of furnishings and accents, I added coziness and made it feel more like a home!

Staging is so much fun, I absolutely love it. This past weekend, I helped a a close friend arrange some furniture in her living room. She had all the right tools to work with it just took time to create the right look. We opened up her living space, added a few pieces with colors she chose and viola! it was perfect. She loves her new living room! I can Stage for any occasion.
